Joe's new play pen

Daddy's O-Level woodwork skills have been dusted down after many years and here is Joe trying out his new homemade playpen for the first time. Made from six mothercare stair gates in a rare moment of inspiration. Hopefully it will keep him out of trouble for a few months.

week 26 - Joseph is 6 months old

Yes, he's reached the grand age of six months and is doing very well now. He is now moving into his own bedroom for sleeping and can start eating any solid foods he wants now. He's making lots of different noises, rolling around on the floor and is showing the first signs of discomfort of his teeth starting to come through.

In Aberdeen

We stopped a few days with Jason and his family so it was great to see them all again. We enjoyed the giant cactus with Leon in an indoors garden and got to enjoy the North Sea and some Scottish hospitality.

week 25 trip to Aberdeen

We all drove up to Aberdeen from Yorkshire as Mike had to renew his helicopter escape course and so made a holiday of it for a week. To break up the journey we stopped at North Berwick to see Sheena's old house and where she grew up. We discovered that sheena used to live on a very old volcano and we found her favourite ever street that you can see on the photo - Quality Street.

video clip of Joe in the swimming pool

Here is a video clip of Joseph at his swimming tots lesson including his underwater dunking experience and a brave mother pushing him under. It's designed to build up his confidence in water early on but scary to watch. It's definately working as he no longer cries after having his dunks.

Joe's first attempt at solids!

I'm not sure how much baby rice actually went in but he definitely enjoyed playing with the spoon! I can't wait to see if he likes my vegetable and fruit purees.
