ouch...injections day today

Ouch..it was immunisations day today and so off on a trip to the doctors with Mummy. Not a day he will want to remember but had to be done, just sorry it hurt so much. I think Mummy found it just as upsetting as Joe. He seems quite happy again now he is home this afternoon, so that's good.

another video clip

Finn and Joseph in action. They had been practising their dance moves quite hard and it is not a bad first effort. A few times they were really co-ordinated and it was fun to watch.

action video clip

Here is an action video of Joseph in his cot. I've added music to accompany his cool dance moves. I think he has potential!

New Jeans

Now doesn't my little fella look grown up in his new jeans! He will need to cut £5's worth off the bottom...just like mummy & daddy ;-)
He must have felt grown up as he slept through the night!!!!!!!! Yeaaah !!!!!. (I can't blame him as intially we were advised to wake him up every 2-3 hrs so we could get enough milk down to enable him to grow and stop him getting dehydrated - there's no stopping him drinking it now though)
This is the first outfit I've bought (twas in the sale - mike!) as so many people have kindly bought us outfits. Also a huge thank you to Donna who donated her son James's entire wardrobe to Joe and what a smart wardrobe it is too! p.s there is a towel in every photo as Joe's range on projectile vomiting is increasing!

sleeping off lunch

sleeping off lunch, originally uploaded by mikes photos.

All the excitement of an action packed morning and a large lunch was a bit much for them both and so here they are both enjoying a much deserved afternoon nap.

sshh...don't wake them but just enjoy that peace and quiet

meeting Finn for the first time

cousins, originally uploaded by mikes photos.

Joe got to meet his cousin Finn last weekend for the very first time and they got on really well together. Finn reminded Joe that he was one day older than him and also taught him a bit of dancing or was that synchronised swimming (great photos Suzanne). They had a great weekend and plan to meet up again soon for more adventures.

we don't like early mornings

we don't like early mornings, originally uploaded by mikes photos.

It's a good job that Mum has lots of energy- all these early mornings are just too much for Joe and Dad. Wake us up please when it is lunchtime, some serious snoozing to be done here thanks.

week 7 update

wide awake, originally uploaded by mikes photos.

Here is another super photo of Joe in recognition of his 7 weeks weigh-in of 10 lbs 13. Another excellent weeks growth- keep up the good work.

Here are some of this weeks highlights:

-He has managed to roll onto his side.
-Many of his suits that used to be so baggy on him are now not long enough any more.
-He has started sleeping in his cot for the first time as the moses basket is now definately way too small for him.
-He's had a busy week, went down to Cambridge to meet up with Daddies family for the first time and he's been to singamajigs and infant massage classes

Joe is 6 weeks old today

So here is a great photo to mark this momentous occasion- reaching the grand old age of 6 weeks. Doesn't time go by fast. His 6 weeks weigh-in is an impressive 10 lbs 3.5 as well.

Ice cream stop

Joe really wanted an Ice cream while we were out walking in Knaresborough. It was a hot sunny Sunday and neither of us wanted to stop for one but he was so demanding and would not stop crying until we had got ourselves some nice double scoops with flakes. He seemed much happier after that! As you can see Yorkshire folk are dead posh- they wear white shirts and bowties when out around town on Sundays!!!

BBQ with the NCT group

on the patio, originally uploaded by mikes photos.

On Sunday, all the new babies from the NCT evening class got to meet up for the first time for a BBQ at our house. The sun was out and everyone had a great time with plenty of noise from 7 new pairs of lungs in action. Sheena's chocolate crispy cakes were a big success and it was great to see two more people who like gooseberry beer. Hopefully we can do another BBQ soon as you are all a great bunch.
There are a few more photos in the collection if you follow the link on here

The happy mother

The happy mother, originally uploaded by mikes photos.

A great moment caught on photo- Mum and son having some quality time then it's back to nappies, cooking and cleaning

look how he has grown in 5 weeks

It was fascinating to watch the video from the birth and see how much he has grown in just five weeks. It is amazing to see how he is changing.

Home from the rig

Back home again and look at the super cake Sheena made me and very tasty it is as well. Joe has grown loads and I think he even remembered me which I was thrilled about. 2 weeks on the rig was fine, but look what me doing 3 nappy changes in one day have done to both of us- bookends snoozing in the afternoon! Good job Sheena has lots of energy and could make the supper. Just getting organised now as we are having the NCT reunion at our house on Sunday for a lunchtime BBQ- 8 couples and babies- should be fun

I was out on the rig this time for May 17th- the Norwegian National day so here is a photo of the great meal that we had. I was on nighshift so had to eat this straight out of bed but what an excellent breakfast to start the day with!!!
